Vlog: The “Secret” Liz Learned About Lasting Weight Loss After 40

1–2 minutes

Most women have been taught that losing weight requires eating less, giving up the foods they enjoy, and maintaining constant control. Liz Osceola believed many of those same messages—until her experience with Sanara Wellness changed the way she thought about food, weight loss, and her body.

Liz originally joined the Sanara team as our yoga instructor. She wasn’t searching for another weight-loss program, but conversations about how she was feeling during perimenopause led her to give our whole-food, anti-inflammatory approach a try.

She went on to lose 20 pounds while eating an abundance of satisfying food, including carbohydrates and full-fat foods. But the changes that mattered most to Liz went well beyond the number on the scale. She began sleeping better, had more energy and mental clarity, and experienced improvements in her joint pain, fatigue, and night sweats.

Perhaps her greatest transformation was learning how her individual body responds to different foods—and gaining the confidence to maintain her results without fear or deprivation. Liz jokes that she now feels like she belongs to a “secret club” because she has tools she never knew existed.

In this conversation, Liz and Sanara Wellness Program Director Tieva Taylor discuss the diet myths Liz stopped believing, why Tieva actually asked her to gain weight near the end of the program, and why Liz describes the experience as one of the greatest gifts she has ever received.

Watch their conversation below to discover the “secret” Liz learned about lasting weight loss—and why feeling better became an even greater victory than losing 20 pounds.
