From Grief to Healing: The Journey That Led Me to Sanara Wellness
by Malory Jimenez

“The name Sanara means ‘to heal.’ Choosing this for our name felt deeply personal to me because healing has shaped every chapter of my own story.”
For many years, much of my life was centered around the community I created through Butterfly Footprints.
Many of you who know me may know that name.
Butterfly Footprints was born from one of the deepest heartbreaks of my life after the loss of my daughter. It became a place where grieving mothers could find understanding, connection, and support during some of their darkest moments.
Through that journey, I learned something that would stay with me forever:
Healing rarely happens alone.
The women I met through my grief journey taught me the power of community, compassion, and simply having someone willing to walk beside you through difficult seasons.
As time passed, and after an immense amount of work toward healing, life continued to evolve.
I eventually stepped into a different chapter through creative work and my digital design business. It was a season of rebuilding and rediscovering myself after grief had reshaped so much of my life.
But underneath it all, something deeper was happening.
My understanding of healing was expanding.
I began to realize that healing is not only emotional. It is physical. Mental. Spiritual. Relational. It touches every part of who we are.
As I continued my own wellness journey, I became increasingly passionate about nutrition, holistic health, behavior change, and helping women better understand their bodies.
That passion eventually led me to become a holistic therapeutic weight loss coach.
Today, I have the privilege of serving as Co-Founder of Sanara Wellness, where I work alongside women who are ready to improve their health, rebuild trust with themselves, and create lasting change through education, support, and a whole-person approach to wellness.
Many of the women we serve are navigating midlife, perimenopause, menopause, inflammation, weight struggles, and the frustration of feeling disconnected from their bodies.
While the work I do today may look very different from the work I once did within the grief and loss community, the heart behind it remains remarkably similar.
It is still about walking with women through difficult seasons.
It is still about listening.
It is still about offering support and encouragement.
It is still about helping women find hope when they feel stuck.
And ultimately, it is still about healing.
The name Sanara means “to heal.”
Our name’s meaning feels deeply personal to me because healing has shaped every chapter of my own story.
My hope is that Sanara Wellness becomes a place where women feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered to reclaim their health and well-being in a way that feels sustainable, compassionate, and true to who they are.
Whether you have been following my journey since the Butterfly Footprints days, supported my creative work over the years, been part of my coaching journey as one of my past clients, or are just finding me now, I am grateful you are here.
Thank you for being part of this next chapter.
With gratitude,
